We also had a sneak glimpse at some WOTLK Classic Gold other postrelease areas that we've been looking at, such as Dire Maul, a ruined night-elf town whose inhabitants fled and left it to the ogres to invade and conquer, and Karazhan Tower, a three-level Dungeon housed in a tall and dark stone tower with three entry points (another way to avoid overcrowding).

Blizzard plans to place the majority of creatures in the raid--that is, those that are so powerful, they're designed to be defeated only by an experienced war group--into dungeons such as those in the Molten Core (a hellish cavern that is home to a dragon with a fire breath) that was revealed in late beta.

It's interesting to see a few creatures of the level of raid that are frost-breathing, such as Azurgos (a massive blue dragon) or the majestic Kazzak, the Lord Kazzak (a "doomguard" monster) and wandering about outside in certain zones. The outdoor monsters are designed to be the one exception to having raid content kept indoors and in instances. As the designer Jeff Kaplan explains, sometimes it's good to hold some competition to see who is able to defeat the first raider.

Additionally, Blizzard plans to systematically reveal new armor and weapons that include robust armor "sets" that offer the chance to earn bonuses when you purchase and equip more additional parts. The full set of armor gives your character incredibly powerful bonuses. As as it turns out, the previous beta phase introduced at least one brand new set of armor designed for warriors that players weren't able to finish. There'll be plenty of chances to hunt down amazing weapons and armor (and hopefully won't have to replace them often) as the game begins this week.
