The Rune Pouch in OSRS is an incredible item. It lets players save up to three different kinds of runes with quantities up to 16,000. This effectively collapses three inventory spaces into one which can be invaluable in games such as Old School RuneScape.
It is true that powerful objects like that of the Rune Pouch are locked behind some fairly hefty requirements. It's going to take some amount of time and effort to unlock, but the benefits the Pouch offers is definitely worth it.
The extra inventory spaces unlocked with the Pouch are often used for food or other supplies when fighting bosses such as Vorkath or just for additional teleports while questing or working on Treasure Trails. To save on these inventory spaces I'll explain how to obtain the Rune Pouch in OSRS in this guide.
Slayer Rewards
The Rune Pouch in OSRS can be obtained in a few different ways. The first, and probably the most simple, is to buy it at any Slayer Master in the game. It costs the sum of 750 Slayer Points. Whatever your Slayer Level, 750 Points is quite a lot, and it will take an extended time to accumulate.
However, there are strategies to boost the efficiency of this grind. Start by figuring out which things you do not like doing and then spend a few points to skip these. By spending a few Slayer Points today will spare you a lot of frustration and headache in the near future.
Additionally, you'll earn extra Slayer Points for each 10th 50th, 100th the 250th and 1,000th tasks completed. Many players capitalize on this through a method known as "Konar Boosting." Each Slayer Master offers a unique number of points per task, and Konar gives the most.
To Konar Boost Simply select whichever Master you prefer, and make the switch Konar on your 10th or 50th, 100th 250th, 1000th, or 10th task. You will need at least a Combat level of 75 to be able to complete tasks with Konar, and she is in Mount Karluum, just north of the Farming Guild on Great Kourend.
When you have at least 775 Slayer Points, visit one of the Slayer Master, it doesn't matter, and launch the Rewards interface. This is not the supply shop that sells in GP. In this interface, you can select 'purchase' with a right click in the Rune Pouch.
Last Man Standing
Another method of acquiring a Rune Pouch in OSRS is to purchase the item from Justine's Stuff for the Last Shopper Standing, with the Pouch costing 75 Last Man Standing Points. To obtain these points, you must play in the Competitive portion of the Last Man Standing minigame.
Last Man Standing is a PvP minigame, like a battle royale. Contact Lisa on the Ferox Enclave in the shallow Wilderness, to get started. It's a secure minigame, you can't bring any outside items anyway, and you'll be pitted against three to twenty-three other players.
During the minigame itself all combat-related stats, including defence, will be adjusted to their maximum levels of 99. Additionally, all Prayers as well as even the Ancient Spellbook will be available, regardless of whether you have the prerequisites for unlocking them. Your Prayer Points and Run Energy will also be indefinite.
The objective for Last Man Standing is, basically being the last person (or woman) standing. After killing another player any stats or supplies that were depleted will be replenished and you'll receive a bloody key.
The bloody keys are to be used on chests in The Last Man Standing map, which are filled with Old School RuneScape's strongest PvP items, such as for instance the Armadyl Godsword and Dragon Claws. Look over the Crush Weapon Guide to see the different types of weapons.
You will get five Last Man Standing Points for winning a game in first place, four for the second spot, and three for fourth and third place, and two points for fifth and ninth places. The tenth-to-nineteenth placer is worth one point. Additionally, you will be awarded one point for three kills or two kills, regardless of your ranking.
After you've earned up to the required 75 Last Man Standing Points, you can redeem them for a Rune Pouch Justine's Stuff or the last Shopper Standing, located near the LMS lobby located in the Ferox Enclave. Note, however, that your account must be registered with at minimum 48 hours of gaming time as a member to be able to use the shop.
Rune Pouch Note
In the shop interface, simply buy either an actual Rune Pouch or a Rune Pouch note. Note: The Rune Pouch note is similar to the other banknotes found in the game, it can simply be exchanged in exchange for a real Rune Pouch at any bank. Take note that you cannot exchange it for another note. Rune Pouch cannot be re-noted.
Another thing to keep in mind about The Rune Pouch note is that it's a tradeable item and offers a third method to obtain the Rune Pouch in OSRS. If you're not looking to grind Slayer or Last Man Standing, you could simply purchase the Rune Pouch note on the Grand Exchange.
While the cost fluctuates and should be checked beforehand should you choose to take this way It is true that the Rune Pouch note tends to be quite costly, ranging from a few million GP, because of the amount of efforts and time it takes to acquire one through Justine's Stuff.
The last thing to be noted is that players can only keep the one Rune Pouch in their possession at any given time, and the Pouch could be lost if one of the players is killed by a stray animal in the Wilderness or on a PvP place that is risky. This is why many players choose to keep a few Rune Pouch Notes as backups.
Final Thoughts
The process of obtaining the Rune Pouch in OSRS can be done using several methods. Start by training on the Slayer skill until you've earned 750 Slayer Reward Points. It is important to practice blocking unwanted tasks and Konar Boosting will assist in this.
Alternatively, you can participate in instead the Last Man Standing minigame until you've earned your at least 75 Last Man Standing points, then you can purchase an Rune Pouch or Note from Justine's Shop. Simply purchase a Rune Pouch Note from the Grand Exchange, provided you have extra capital.
