"I have three kids and they're Diablo 4 Gold all teenagers, and they aren't able to make the same distinction between consoles, computers or mobiles," Cheng said. "They are avid gamers on all sorts of different platforms."
The game will see a simultaneous launch on PC with full keyboard and mouse controller support, in addition to cross progression and cross play using mobiles at the time of launch. The decision was based on the Beta test where gamers' content creators said they'd need to replicate the game for the purpose of displaying the game on their channels According to Rod Fergusson, general manager of the Diablo franchise.
"The concept of not having native support for PC and creators of content doesn't feel right," he said. Work quickly began to bring the same experience from mobile to PC and ensure that this game works exactly in similar to the users' interfaces and control strategies specifically designed for desk warriors. In the end, the concerns from 2018 about why the game should even exist morphed into fans asking for the time when the game was due to launch -- and begging for a PC port.
"If you're logging into and want to make the quick 3 or 5 minute jump into a cave, a lot of thinking went into like, what was your location? What do we want you to be? Are you near a community hub?" Grubb said. "When you sign in to Westmarch our main social city, there are portals within the city for the elder and challenge rifts."
The average time of play for the session, Grubb said, was in fact much longer, about 45 minutes. They also played through the whole day. The team was aware that they were hitting a good balance between fast play sessions and runs that were long enough to buy Diablo IV Gold justify parking next to a PC.
