- Now you will be redirected to a reset password page and you need to fill in your username and add your recovery email address.
- Press the ‘reset password’ icon now.

- Enter in the reset code sent to your recovery email address.
- Again a warning will appear on the screen, type DANGER to confirm that you understand outcome of resetting the password.
- After confirming, type new password and re-type password to confirm it.

How to change ProtonMail password?
If users want to change their password and keep a strong and secure password, follow below given steps to change password:
- Open ProtonMail login page
- Login to ProtonMail email account by filling in your credentials (username and password).
- Click on the ‘settings’ button on the task bar in the top right corner.
- Now click on either ‘change login password’ or ‘change mailbox password’ to change password.
- To change any of the passwords you need to fill in your current password for authentication.
- After choosing one of the options type in new password and re-type password to confirm it.
- Password has changed now.
- You can also change the option of one and two password mode by clicking on the ‘switch to one password mode’ under the ‘change login password’ option.
